OLIVAIS

The most important territorial changes in Olivais took place with the Public Works Policy of the Estado Novo and the Gröer Plan - General Urbanisation Plan (1938-1948), which included a comprehensive planning of the city and was commissioned by Duarte Pacheco (Minister of Public Works and Mayor of Lisbon) to the urban planner Étienne de Gröer.

The Quinta Pedagógica dos Olivais, inaugurated in 1996, was born from the growing need for contact with nature and the need to keep alive an increasingly distant and unknown reality: life in the countryside.

PARQUE VALE DO SILÊNCIO

The Vale do Silêncio Active Park is a space for physical activity that combines three areas with a differentiated offer to promote the practice of physical activity and sport among a greater number of age groups.

ESTÁTUA BARTOLOMEU DE GUSMÃO

Bartolomeu de Gusmão was the pioneering explorer of aerial navigation and the inventor of the passarola. A stone statue on a round pedestal was inaugurated in his honor in 1989 on the Alameda das Comunidades Portuguesas.
